Child health resource network to be set up in Madhya Pradesh

A child health resource network involving various stakeholders would be built up soon in Madhya Pradesh. The networks would be set up at State, divisional, district and block level. The programme will help children in building up environment for survival initiatives and support implementation of the various health programme.

A child health resource network involving various stakeholders would be built up soon in Madhya Pradesh. The networks would be set up at State, divisional, district and block level. The programme will help children in building up environment for survival initiatives and support implementation of the various health programme.

The decision was taken at a state-level consultation on child survival by Department of Health and Family welfare with support from UNICEF on Monday in Bhopal.

Health and Family Welfare Principal Secretary MM Upadhyay who chaired the meeting said that this partnership provides an opportunity to accelerate State's efforts in reducing infant and maternal mortality rate. "We need to get community members involved in the process especially mothers, if we are able to do the same, half of the job is done," he added.

Cynthia De Windt State Representative UNICEF said, "It is time to manifest our concern in a way that brings out the best in each one of us to offer for health of infant and children of the state. We can make a difference in bringing new light to the survival and healthy development of children of the State

Dr Sandeep Kumar Assistant Commissioner, Child health, Government of India, Pradeep Haldar Assistant Commissioner Immunisation Government of India, Dr Vinod Paul, Professor of Pediatrics, AIIMS, New Delhi also expressed their views.

Rajesh Rajora Commissioner Health, and Dr Yogiraj Sharma Director of Public Health and Welfare were present.
