Meet the Team

Naimur Rahman
Director, OneWorld South Asia

Mr Naimur Rahman has been with OWSA for the last three years and was a key member of the OWSA Management Team since April 2006. As Senior Programme Manager - Technology Services in OneWorld South Asia, Naimur has been responsible for developing New Media & Technology Tools and Services and has helped support the ICT needs of OneWorld partners.

Naimur brings in 16 years of managerial, advisory and consulting experience in the domains of technology, knowledge management and international development. He possesses a first class honours degree in Engineering and has subsequently completed post graduate management education in International Business.

Prior to joining OneWorld, Naimur has been associated with social sector interventions for more than a decade and had served in various capacities with the government, bi-lateral funding agencies, corporate sector, and civil society organizations.

 

Mukesh Garain
Head – Finance, Administration & Legal Affairs

Mukesh has worked with OneWorld since April 2002 in various capacities at its New Delhi office. He has been part of the OWSA Management Team since April 2006 and advising the team on legal, administrative and financial matters.

He brings in an experience of nearly 18 years and has worked in the corporate and the development sectors.

 

Shakeel Ahmad
Head, Knowledge Services, Innovations and Delivery

Shakeel is Program Manager of LifeLines India, an innovative ICT based information delivery service at the grassroots. He has worked earlier in the R&D department at the Indian Institute of Technology at Kanpur and has ample experience in leading technical teams and in software design and development. Shakeel has a keen interest in open source technologies.

 

Kedar Dash
Head, Technology Operation and Content Services

A techie to the core, Kedar has completed his master in computer application and is currently working as Head, Technology Operation and Content Services at OneWorld South Asia. He has an enriching eight years experience in Web and application development and has been with the Ek-Duniya web servicess initiative since its inception. He is deeply involved in the capacity building programmes of OWSA.

Before joining OWSA, he had worked with Development Alternatives and NIIT Ltd. His of expertise includes extensive work on Zope, plone and python.


Geetha N Bhardwaj
Head, Social and Community Media

Geetha N Bhardwaj is a management graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, whose career, of over twenty years, has spanned the public sector, non-government (NGO) sector and the corporate sector. She has worked at Jagori - a Women’s training, documentation and communication centre in New Delhi – where she gained understanding on gender issues and on using communication to build awareness.

As the Asia Editor of the Millennium Campaign for about four months, she interfaced with the Wada Na Todo Abhiyan (WNTA) in India, and with other country focal points in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka to report on activities related to the three White Band events of 2005.

 

Swati Sahi
Head, Editorial and Emerging Media

A postgraduate in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics, Swati started as an assistant news producer in a private national television channel. She later moved to book publishing, and has worked with leading publishing firms as copy editor.

At OneWorld South Asia, Swati leads the editorial team and manages content for the OneWorld South Asia portal http://southasia.oneworld.net/ and Digital Opportunity Channel. She also publishes a fortnightly e-newsletter South Asia MDG Watch, http://www.mdg-sa.net/ focusing on MDG progress in the South Asia region, and is also responsible for New Media Initiatives at OneWorld South Asia.
