OneWorld Network

The OneWorld Network is a fast-growing global community of people and civil society groups, anchored by 12 OneWorld Centres around the world.

OneWorld’s mission is to harness the democratic potential of the Information and Communication technologies to create a world where resources are shared in a fair and sustainable way, where human rights are nurtured and protected, and where democratic governance structures enable people to shape their own lives.

The 12 OneWorld centres bring together a growing international community of more than 2,000 partners (many of them large networks in their own right) based in 89 countries to:

  • leverage networked opportunities of emerging media to effectively inform a global audience on issues on human rights and sustainable development
  • transcend geographic and linguistic barriers, in particular to give a voice to those typically overlooked by mainstream media and policy makers
  • create a global community working for sustainable development through active partnerships of organisations and individuals sharing common vision
  • appropriate traditional and state-of-the-art internet technology to enable qualitative improvements in education, health and livelihood opportunities of people

The global OneWorld portal is an award-winning, trusted source of information with highlights on news, opinion and campaigns; and attracts over five million page-views per month.
