Capacity Building and Technical Services
The Training and Technical Services division of OneWorld South Asia is aimed at building capacities of our partners and stakeholders, to work towards the realisation of Millennium Development
Goals (MDGs). The focus is on providing knowledge and support at grassroots and intermediary institutional level for the deployment of ICTs in grassroots developmental initiatives.
E-learning
OneWorld has initiated the creation of an on-line learning course on ICT & the Media. The aim of this course is to provide technical inputs to to working journalists on the usage of new ICT tools for a wider coverage of development issues in general and in particular, issues around safe reproductive health and HIV/AIDS.
This is being done in association with a learning technology provider. OneWorld has also engaged with a leading Mass-Communication Institute of India to get the courseware content validated by their faculty. This on-line learning module adheres to globally accepted learning technology standards and will be accessible to all Information and Communication Technology Capacity Building for Asia Network members through a process of on-line registration.The complete training module will be available soon.
Ek-Duniya: Local Language Content Hosting
OWSA is projecting Ek-Duniya as a technical platform to facilitate multi-stakeholder communication on development issues on the web in local language in South Asia.
The current implementation of Ek-Duniya entails design of template based dynamic web-pages using custom designed content architecture & templates, uploading English & Indian language content, and web-hosting through an open source content management system – Plone. More
