Grassroots Communication
Grassroots Communication at OneWorld South Asia is an effort towards easy flow of information at various levels through the use of information and communication technologies. It is an attempt towards building communication opportunities for the grassroots by facilitating knowledge sharing between and among communities.

"Open Knowledge Network"

Open Knowledge Network (OKN) as the name suggests is an open platform to share knowledge that improves or add value to people’s lives. An effort towards creation and exchange of local content in local languages, supported by a range of information and communication technologies.

It helps to bring communities closer to researchers, agricultural scientists, health professionals, government authorities and markets. OKN provides an opportunity for Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to network with grassroots knowledge workers and allow innovative bottom-up content sharing approaches. Soochna Se Samadhan
Voice Based Q & A Service
"Soochna Se Samadhan"

Launched in North India recently, the Soochna Se Samadhan ( Lifelines )project uses the telephone as a medium for information to reach the grassroots. This service will focus on the agricultural sector in the initial stages. Farmers would be able to get their queries answered either immeditately or within 48 hours. Read more
Ek Duniya Ek Aawaaz
"Radio for Grassroots"

OWSA encourages the use of radio by the communities as an effective communication tool for grassroots. We are involved in building capacities of the grassroots organisations and communities to effectively use radio as communication tool to channelise knowledge flow in and out of communities in voice format. OWSA provides it's audio studio, audio editing facilities and air time to organisations and communities free of cost. Read more
Advocacy Centres
OneWorld South Asia in partnership with community based organisations is promoting use of print, radio and Internet media for voicing concerns of the communities. These centres have started functioning in Madangir, Sangam Vihar, Lal Kuan, Okhla slums in south delhi and Shabad Daulatpur, Jehanjirpuri, Mukundpur and Bhalswa communities in north delhi region. Integrated Media Centres
OneWorld South Asia in partnership with Plan International is building capacities of the communities on use of print, radio, photography, comics, Internet and traditional media. This programme has been taken to Bhubaneshwar and Karanjia districts in Orissa, Bikaner district in Rajasthan, Chamoli district in Uttaranchal, Sirkhzai and Chettikuppam district in Tamilnadu and Karaikal district in Pondicherry. Computer Training at Bhopal
12.02.2007 OneWorld South Asia conducted a five days workshop on new media for twenty eight participants from PACS partner CSOs from the state of Madhya Pradesh from 5-9 February 2007 at Bhopal.

Ek Duniya Kayee Kahaniya
OneWorld South Asia enables grassroots people to voice their concerns, to express their experiences about their life, their demands, their own rights and suggestions to solve their problems.
