Sunita Narain, Editor of the science and environment fortnightly, Down To Earth, is the recipient of the Media Foundation's 2004 Chameli Devi award for an outstanding woman media-person. The selection was made by a jury comprising Dr Malavika Karlekar of the Centre for Women's Development Studies, Neerja Chowdhury, of the Indian Express and Sumit Chakravartty, Editor, Mainstream. The presentation took place at the India International Centre Auditorium, New Delhi on March 29.
