An Indian NGO plans to send two lakh emails to the Pakistani government as part of an appeal to release an Indian prisoner who has been sentenced to death. This comes on the heels of similar other appeals, petitions and requests to Pakistan for a pardon for Sarabjit Singh who is facing a death penalty for his alleged involvement in bomb blasts in Lahore.

A Bhopal-based cultural organisation - Vishwas Cultural Sports Society - plans to send across over two lakh e-mails to Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf asking him to set free Sarabjit Singh, who is facing the death sentence for his alleged involvement in bomb blasts at Lahore.

The society has set-up a kiosk and is inviting residents to send e-mails to Musharraf saying that Sarabjit Singh was innocent and it was a case of mistaken identity.

The Secretary of the NGO, Vishwas Sarang said: "We will send about one lakh e-mails to Musharraf from this Internet kiosk. Another one lakh e-mails will be sent by residents of the town, many of who have been inquiring about the Pakistani President's e-mail address."
