The Livelihood School, Ranchi is organising the 16th Program in Livelihoods Promotion (PLP), the flagship program of The Livelihood School at Gurukul, Ranchi from July 10-15, 2007.
Eastern India Regional Centre of The Livelihood School, headquartered at Ranchi serves the eastern and north eastern parts of the country. Around 300 participants from NGOs, Govt. agencies working towards livelihood enhancement and corporate houses fulfilling their social responsibility has opted and benefited from this program since 2004.
The School designed to function as an academic institution primarily caters to the capacity building requirements of practitioners in the livelihood promotion sector through a well tested curriculum design and pedagogy. The pedagogy of the program covers multiple methodologies like case teaching, small group discussions, assignments, and simulation and field exercises.
There are three levels of the curriculum of The Livelihood School:
Level 1 of the PLP is coined as "Fundamentals of Livelihoods Promotion (FLP)", which provides participants basic understanding of the livelihoods promotion process. FLP consists of module of 5 and ½ days. It would enhance the practitioner’s knowledge and relevant skills towards identification of livelihood activity by applying different tools and techniques evolved by experienced development practitioners and leaders over a period of time.
