India-CCM for GFATM calls for country proposals for Round Eight of Funding
|
The India-Country Coordination Mechanism (CCM) for The Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis & Malaria (GFATM) is calling for proposals from government agencies, civil society organisations and private sector companies for the launch of Round 8 by the Global Fund.
The Global Fund was created to finance a dramatic turn-around in the fight against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. Till date, the Fund has committed US$ 10.1 billion in 136 countries to support aggressive interventions against all three diseases. The India-CCM intends to submit three proposals, for HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The last date for submission of proposals to the India-CCM secretariat is April 20, 2008. The India-CCM has identified priority areas for the three disease components and defined a template for civil society and private sector organisations to submit proposals. For HIV/AIDS, the focus should be on prevention of injecting drug use, HIV transmission among migrant workers and transgender. In case of Tuberculosis and Malaria, efforts need to be strengthened for greater advocacy and mobilisation to spread awareness about these diseases. Presentation of proposals The India-CCM requests concept notes, as per the attached template. The template aims at providing the India-CCM with all the information about the submitting organisation, including its size, capacity for implementation, areas of work, competence, partnerships and previous performance. The India-CCM will finalise the comprehensive country proposal of India, with input from all stakeholders and in cooperation with the agreed principal recipients and their sub-recipients. The proposals in prescribed format along with supporting documents in paper and CD-ROM format may be submitted to the India – CCM Secretariat, c/o UNAIDS, A2/35 Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi-110029 or by email to proposalsround8@indiaccm.org Source: The Global Fund-India Country Coordinating Mechanism |
