Community TV for better communication

Kohima: The government of Nagaland has decided to distribute community television (TV) sets to all recognised villages in the state to improve communication process and to better link them with the world by providing access to global developments.

Announcing this, the state Information and Public Relations and Economics and Statistics Parliamentary Secretary R Tohanba said that the initiative will be jointly implemented by the Chairman of the respective District Planning and Development Boards of the districts, the Deputy Commissioners and the District Public Relations Officers.

Acknowledging the efforts put into the realisation of this project, he said this could be an initiative in exposing the midland to the northeast. The discrimination and differentiation felt by the people can be sorted out through such exposures, he added.
