This case study conducted by Ashok Kumar at OneWorld Foundation India has been developed to showcase the outcomes of technical assistance provided to various health facilities identified by the state government to make quality improvements, and help them reach Family Friendly Hospital Initiative (FFHI) and National Quality Assurance Standards certification levels.
The case study draws from internal documents and conversations with internal stakeholders. Information from the ground was gathered through a field trip to four health facilities including Pandaul and Rahika in Madhubani district, and Dumraon and Shahpur in Bhojpur district. This included some in-depth personal interviews and group discussions with external stakeholders.
These facilities were selected as examples of facilities to get a mix of both ‘high’ performing and ‘low’ performing facilities. The health facilities of different standards and certifications were selected in order to draw a comparison and see how certification mechanisms contribute to improving the health systems.

Information from the ground was gathered through a field trip to Dobhi and Bodh Gaya blocks of Gaya district in Bihar.
The field work included some personal interviews and group discussions with external stakeholders. These blocks were selected because the initiative was reported to have brought about some changes there since its implementation.

This programme report has been developed by OneWorld Foundation India to describe the Community-based Operations and Maintenance of Hand Pumps scheme that was supported by SWASTH. It draws from internal documents and conversations with stakeholders.
Information from the ground was gathered through a field trip to Dobhi block of Gaya district in Bihar. This included some personal interviews and group discussions with external stakeholders. This block was selected as the initiative was piloted here and was reported to have brought about some changes here since its implementation.

This programme report has been developed by OneWorld Foundation India to describe the water quality testing systems of the Public Health and Engineering Department, particularly with regard to the initiative taken up by the Bihar Technical Assistance Support Team under the SWASTH programme, aiming to ensure safe and sustained water supply in each and every household.
The report draws from secondary sources as well as information gathered through discussions with community members and other stakeholders involved in the initiative. Field level information was gathered from two districts of Bihar - Gaya and Arwal.
