Achieving health, equity and human rights

Indian Association for Social Sciences and Health (IASSH) is organising its sixth conference from March 7-8, 2009 at Puducherry. Social scientists, health experts and policymakers will explore evolving an equitable and affordable healthcare model in India.

Indian Association for Social Sciences and Health (IASSH) is the Asia-Pacific unit of the International Forum for Social Sciences and Health, Istanbul. Its major objective is to bring together scientists, practitioners and policymakers from various disciplines to explore and work in areas of social and cultural dimensions of illness and healthcare in the country.

Taking the idea forward, IASSH is organising its sixth conference on the theme: Health, Equity and Human Rights from March 7-8, 2009 at Pondicherry University, Puducherry.

  • Advancing the sexual and reproductive health and rights of young people
  • Reducing maternal mortality and morbidity by mainstreaming equity and human rights
  • Health systems and programmes - how they can be improved

Call for abstracts

Abstracts of papers on topics relevant to the themes are invited. The abstracts should be within 300 words.

There will be two best research paper awards to the young scholars less than 30 years of age. Interested young scholars should submit paper and mention "For Young Scientist Research paper award".

Deadlines

The abstract may be mailed to sixthiassh@gmail.com with a copy to pu6iassh@gmail.com

  • Last date for receiving the abstract is January 5, 2009
  • Last date for receiving the full length paper is February 15, 2009

Hard copy of abstracts should be accompanied by the registration fee sent by DD payable at Puducherry drawn in favour of “The Seminar Director, IASSH".
