Want to solve real-life water problems of today? Learn the science, techniques and policies on urban rainwater harvesting.

Centre for Science and Environment is organising a short advanced course on Urban Rainwater Harvesting for working professionals from March 17-21, 2008.

This course is open to civil engineers, architects, urban planners, environment consultants, municipal water managers, policy makers and NGOs interested in learning more about the theory, practice and policies of urban water harvesting.

The programme allows you to gain knowledge, acquire holistic perspectives and get hands-on practice in planning and designing urban water harvesting systems . It will help you to solve real-life water problems of today and give you the unique chance to meet and interact with experts and professional in the field of rainwater harvesting.

What you will learn

Beginning with the science of water harvesting, the course takes you through technologies for use in micro-level catchments of residential and institutional buildings to macro-level catchments of roads, flyovers, parks, urban forests, and other public areas.

You will update yourself on recent policy developments and legal and financial incentives for rainwater harvesting.

Field trips, films, rigorous practical exercises will help you to internalise the lectures and will help you get started in designing and planning for urban rainwater harvesting.

Fee

The course is available to you at a fee of only Rs. 8,800/- per participant (for government, corporate, and international participants). NGO,s and individuals can avail a 50% discount (Rs. 4,400/-).

The course fee should be paid in advance by demand draft/cheque in the name of CENTRE FOR SCIENCE AND ENVIRONMENT payable at New Delhi. Just complete the registration form (below), and post / fax it to CSE.

Accommodation is not included in the charges.
