The awards
An effort to felicitate, amplify and publicise the efforts taken by the corporate sector for striving towards inclusive & sustainable development with a “society-centered” purpose.
The good corporate citizens, who have risen above mere business profitability objectives, have followed an integrated approach, displayed exemplary determination of sharing the benefits of growth with the society in general & enabling change in specific social sectors facing neglect in particular will be felicitated.
The awards will also recognise efforts of conserving for the future generations.
Goals
As a responsible, accountable & the leading News Channel of the country, its not only about the media coverage of negative actions but also about taking positive strides.
The precise objectives of the effort includes:
1. Further stimulation of the corporate sector to continue good work in the direction.
2. To inspire many more including SMEs to append their efforts in the noble direction.
3. Facilitate social & economic transformation of our country.
Selection Process
There will be a 3-stage selection process to select 3 in each of the 5 categories. The process includes:
1. Inviting Applications: in a prescribed format; through online submissions and direct mailers.
2. Short-Listing by Experts: Designated experts in each of the 5 categories will short list potential winners in a prescribed framework of parameters.
3. Peer-Rating and Jury: A 7 member jury will finalise the 15 awards post taking into consideration the peer ratings.
Selection Parameters
Basis of Selection: Significance of the issues addressed: The issues should be relevant & largely unattended to.
Scale: Quantifiable impact on people.Replicability: Effort should be replicable in other geographies of the country/region/state not necessarily by the same company.
Sustainability (economic, social and environmental): Effort should be socially acceptable and environmentally caring.
Finances: The scale of budgets and the amounts spent on welfare activities are accounted for. The same shall also be compared with the overall organisational resource base & what in turn has been deployed in the noble cause.
Participation of people in planning, execution and monitoring: Long with the scale of the operations, the number of people involved in planning, execution and monitoring of activities is considered. It should not be limited to a small contractual activity or sub let operations.
Innovativeness: Approach to the welfare ideas and incorporation of new ways to achieve common goals is also a major contributing factor.
Promotion of Equity: Effort should also focus on societal and gender equity.
