Cartoon contest on climate change
British Council, in partnership with the Ken Sprague Fund UK, announces a cartoon contest to sensitise and bring better awareness about climate change. The deadline for submitting entries is November 30, 2009.
Climate change is no laughing issue. But through humour you can raise awareness about climate change.
Themes:
There are several themes to choose from:
drought and water shortage
deforestation and rain forest destruction
melting of the ice caps
role of industry in polluting the atmosphere
devastation of our seas and disappearance of marine life
climate change in an urban environment
Guidelines
Cartoons should be made by hand.
Entries can be submitted as a hard / scanned copy in high resolution (minimum 640x480 pixels).
Cartoons should be in black and white.
Material to be used: White Chart Paper (size 12 x 15 inches) and ink and brush/ Black Felt Pen/Charcoal.
One entry per individual.
Only original work should be submitted, copying will lead to disqualification, even if found at a later date.
If you are sending you entry by post/ courier, please ensure good packaging so your cartoon doesn’t get damaged on the way.

Prizes for best entries include:
1st prize: Laptop
2nd prize: Smart-phone
3rd prize: i-Pod
The entries will be judged by a panel of eminent cartoonists from India and the UK. There are exciting prizes to be won.
Additionally the award winning entries along with the ones that make it to the final shortlist will be exhibited around India.
