Conference on environment education
Delhi based The Energy and Resources Institute is organising a regional conference on environment education from November 13-15, 2008 at TERI Gram, Gurgaon. The event hopes to raise issues concerning environmental aspects of the processes linked with education and enhance teachers’ knowledge on related issues.

Delhi based TERI is organising an educator's conference on environment education November 13-15, 2008 at TERI Gram in Gurgaon.
A first of its kind, the event seeks to bring together stakeholders from school environs, NGOs, corporate world, media, and governments for wide-ranging discussions on environmental aspects of the processes linked with education.
Participating teachers will be from India and other South Asian countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Nepal.
Conference objectives
- Enhance knowledge of the teaching community on issues related to environment education and climate change and provide them with the required learning experience
- Ensure complete access to varied knowledge and resources
- Provide educators a platform to build networks with teachers in the identified region
- Enable educators to initiate hands-on activities
- Ensure that new learning is built on a foundation of the knowledge already existing in the curriculum
Who should participate?
- Teachers’ from India – urban, semi urban, and rural schools
- Teachers from the above-mentioned South Asian countries
- Various stakeholders - concerned NGOs, Youth, Government education and environment departments, corporate houses, and the media
