Conference on microfinance
Pondicherry University invites research papers for its third International Conference on Micro Finance to be held from January 22 – 24, 2010 at the University campus. The event will provide a forum to administrators and NGOs to discuss sound economic policies. Last date for submission is December 14, 2009.

The Department of Commerce, School of Management, Pondicherry University organised two international conferences on Microfinance during January 2008 and January 2009.
Supported by NABARD, SIDBI, Indian Overseas Bank and other micro finance Institutions, these conferences provided insights on the existing microfinance and the need for bringing researchers and practitioners under one roof to discuss ways for improvements and sustainability of micro finance for community development.
The third international conference aims to provide a forum of economists and socialists to evolve strategies to eradicate poverty in India and at Globe and to take education to the field and to promote people’s participation in eradicating the poverty through micro finance.
Award
Outstanding research paper award of Rs.10000 each will be given to three best papers presented at the conference.
