Digital libraries conference

TERI announces the International Conference on Digital Libraries focussing on their potential and role in development from February 23-26, 2010 in New Delhi. The deadline for submitting papers is October 15, 2009.

TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) invites attention to ICDL 2010, the third conference in the Institute’s ICDL (International Conference on Digital Libraries) series.

The theme of ICDL 2010 is ‘Digital Libraries: Shaping the Information Paradigm’ and the conference will focus on the role of digital libraries in education, cultural, social and economic development.

The conference aims to bring together a galaxy of experts, researchers, academics, and scholar students and provide an international platform to address issues relevant to digital libraries.

Programmes:

Tutorials: Day 1 (23 February 2010) Leading researchers and practitioners will present the tutorials to familiarize participants with the new and innovative tools and techniques DL development.

Conference sessions & Workshops: Days 2, 3, and 4 (24, 25 & 26 February 2010).

Business sessions: Days 2 and 3 (24-25 February 2010).

Exhibitors: Days 2, 3, and 4 (24-26 February 2010).

Submission of papers:

Original research papers and posters that have not been previously published and are not under review for any another conference or journal are invited.

Some of the topics include:

  • Digital libraries development, architecture, and management
  • Content management in DLs
  • Digital rights management
  • Digital preservation and access management
  • Semantic web
  • E-Learning and e-publishing
  • E-resources management for distance learners

Guidelines:

  • Papers must be written in English
  • Each paper should contain abstracts with a list of about five keywords
  • The paper should also mention the topic under which it falls from the above list of topics
  • Each paper will be reviewed by at least two reviewers
  • Papers should be submitted in MS Word (2000) format
  • Submit online or electronically at the following e-mail address:  icdl@teri.res.in.

Deadline:

Submission of full papers: October 15, 2009.
