Live Earth Concert

The India chapter of Live Earth is organising a concert for a climate in crisis on December 7, 2008 in Mumbai. Featuring world-renowned musicians and performers, the multi-media entertainment event will provide a platform to ignite a global movement on most pressing environmental issues.

Live Earth, a concert for a climate in crisis, seeks to leverage the power of entertainment through media urging global leaders, local communities and every individual to actively participate in solving the most critical environmental issues of our time.

It is a collaborative effort of the Delhi based The Energy Resources Institute (TERI), Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore, corporations and NGOs.

The India chapter of Live Earth is orchestrating a similar ground-breaking, multi-media entertainment event on December 7, 2008 in Mumbai.

It all started with a concert around the world on July 7, 2007, when Live Earth produced “Live Earth: the Concerts for a Climate in Crisis” — the most watched online entertainment event ever.

The concerts were hosted on seven continents, broadcast in 132 countries, and inspired two billion people worldwide to engage with the issues and the solutions surrounding the global climate crisis.

This year again the concert will reverberate across the globe featuring world-renowned musicians and performers, environmental advocates and celebrities from India and all over the globe.

Live Earth,  has adopted TERI's LABL (Lighting a Billion Lives) campaign and the proceeds will be used for providing solar lighting to millions of rural households across the globe.
