Media on climate change
ICIMOD organises a competition for journalists on climate change impact in the Hindu Kush-Himalayan region. Closing date for submission of entries is December 15, 2009.
The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) is organising a competition for journalists with a thematic focus on climate change in the Himalayas.
The aim is to capture published media reports and to encourage journalists to write on mountain, and especially Himalayan issues.
Theme of the competition:
Climate Change in the Himalayas
Participation:
The contest is open to anybody from anywhere in the world.
Entry guidelines:
- Article/story focus: the report must be related to climate change
- Geographic focus: Hindu Kush-Himalayan region
Form of publication: must be a written article published in a recognised publication in printed or online format - Publication: the newspaper, journal, magazine, or other type of publication recognised at international, regional, or national level.
- Language: English or any other language
- Date: Article first published between 01 August and 07 December 2009
Submission guidelines:
- Each contestant may submit up to 4 entries.
- Please submit your entries, one entry at a time.
- Entries can be in the form of black & white, or colour digital images.
Deadline
Closing date for submission is December 15, 2009.
Awards
- Best report in a publication in the ‘International’ category (USD 1000);
Runner-up (USD 500) - Best report in a publication in the ‘Regional’ category (USD 1000);
Runner-up (USD 500) - Outstanding Regional Young Journalist (USD 1000)
