Media workshop on climate change

Centre for Science and Environment(CSE) invites journalists to attend the South Asian Media Briefing Workshop in New Delhi to discuss, debate and understand the subject of climate change. The deadline for receiving applications is October 10, 2010.

The two-day South Asian Media Briefing Workshop is aimed at providing first-hand information on and understanding of the subject to journalists, straight from the key women and men in the field – the national negotiators, policy-makers, climate change experts, and civil society representatives.

Journalists from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will have the unique opportunity to interact with and be briefed by these people on November 24-25, 2010 .

The Workshop will also offer a chance to meet with editors and other journalists covering the subject in the South Asian region. Additionally, it will provide the framework and guidelines to prepare journalists for the forthcoming global meets on climate change.

Participation procedure:

  • Participation at the Workshop is open only to active journalists from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
  • There are only 75 seats for the Workshop. Interested journalists can apply through e-mail or fax on the format provided below to the undersigned.
  • There is no participation / registration fee. CSE offers to support the travel and accommodation of some of the selected participants. But to avail of this sponsorship opportunity, interested journalists must apply immediately.
