Murals on sustainable development
UNESCO Bangkok invites entries from students across Asia-Pacific for a mural contest on sustainable development. The competition seeks to understand
young people's perspectives and raise awareness on issues of urbanization, climate change and indigenous knowledge.
To celebrate the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014), UNESCO Bangkok is organising a student mural competition on themes of sustainable urbanisation, action for climate change and preservation of traditional and indigenous knowledge based on sustainable development issues.
The competition intends to showcase student entries as a representation of young people's perspectives.
All UNESCO Associated Schools and UNESCO Clubs in the Asia-Pacific region are especially invited to partake, but the competition is open to all youth across South Asia, South East and East Asia, South Pacific.
The murals, created on a free surface at a school or in the local community, are intended to be part of a community-led initiative to mark the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development and create a legacy for future discussion on sustainable development.
