People’s Technology Congress

Forum of Scientists, Engineers and Technologists is organising its seventh All India People’s Technology Congress from February 6-7, 2009 in the eastern city of Kolkata. The event would explore the use of sustainable and environment friendly techniques and models for improvement in quality of life.

An economically, socially developed and self-reliant society can be created through application of appropriate technology for sustainable development.

The key to this will be the development of appropriate technology that integrates region-specific technology with new environment-conscious models and socio-economic system.

Forum of Scientists, Engineers and Technologists (FOSET), an organisation under Core-Support of Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, is organising the seventh All India People’s Technology Congress from February 6-7, 2009 in Kolkata in association with other organisations dedicated for the cause.

Held every alternate year in the eastern Indian city, this event takes stock of the research being undertaken throughout the country to develop techniques and models aimed at improving quality of life of the stakeholders.

The aim is to assimilate all the efforts and create a national-level database and model of technologies, which are appropriate for the ultimate users.

Papers are invited from individuals/ institutions to comply with the event’s main topics listed above. Abstracts should be mailed to aiptc.foset@gmail.com

The last date for sending abstracts is October 20, 2008.

Registration

All participants including authors, co-authors (if any) have to submit the attached registration form duly filled-in and signed.

Registration Fee

  • Paper-presenters and Delegates from Institutes, Government Departments, Industries: Rs.2500
  • Paper-presenters and Delegates from Non-government Organisations, Panchayats, Local Self Governments, Faculties of Educational Institutions: Rs. 300
  • Paper-presenters and Delegates from Student community (Authorisation letter from Head of the Institute has to be attached with the Registration Form), Member of Farmers Clubs, Self Help Groups, Rural Cooperatives and FOSET Life Members: Rs.100
  • Other Individual Paper presenter and delegate: Rs.500
