Seminar on energy and climate change
French NGO GERES is organising a seminar on energy and climate change from April 21-24, 2009 in Leh, India. The objective is to integrate these themes within development strategies. The last date for sending in papers is Februray 2, 2009.
Mountain areas are particularly affected by climate change as relatively small changes in temperatures have severe impacts on water supply, agriculture-based livelihoods and infrastructures.
Thus, access to sustainable energy-providing services is a critical factor in achieving major development goals in these regions.
