Technology is expected to play a critical role in mitigation of climate change and for establishing a low-emissions industrial infrastructure. Significant transformation of the conventional technology used to produce and distribute energy, manufacture goods and provide transportation is required to achieve target reductions.

Against the backdrop of high energy and material prices, Indian industry is looking to develop and adapt technologies for cost-effective processes and manufacturing globally competitive products.

Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in collaboration with Ministry of Science & Technology is organising the annual flagship event “Technology Summit and Technology Platform” on December 5-6, 2008 in New Delhi.

Indian industry is also keen to tap into the booming carbon credit market. In this perspective, this Summit focuses on “Leveraging Investment Opportunities in Clean Technologies”.

The Summit has become the largest technology event in the country with highest level of participation from government, industry and researchers.

The main objective is to promote technology tie-ups, joint ventures and investments to and from participating countries.
