Training on carbon revenue

Development Alternatives is organising a training programme on Carbon Revenues: A Source of Funding from May 13-15, 2009 at its campus in central India. The objective is to help organisations develop projects that would help them earn carbon funds.

In the present global scenario with the growing concerns over global warming, carbon revenue has become an innovative funding mechanism for NGOs, Corporate and Public Sector Units.

For this appropriate projects have to be conceptualized, developed and implemented. This involves learning of tools, techniques and information required within the existing development interventions currently run or likely to be run in future viz. related to Natural Resource Management and Energy.

In this context, Development Alternatives is organising a training programme on Carbon Revenues: A Source of Funding from May 13-15, 2009 at TARAgram, Appropriate Technology Centre, Orchha, Madhya Pradesh.

Objectives

  • To make participants understand the concept of carbon revenue and how it can generate funds.
  • To acquaint them with tools, techniques and information that would be required to conceptualise, develop and implement such innovative programmes in the area of energy and natural resource management.
  • To share DA’s experiences in generating carbon revenue

Course Eligibility

This programme is designed for Officers from Central & State governments, National/International Development Organizations, Corporate as well as CSR Professionals, Academic institutions and individuals who possess an interest in Energy and NRM related projects and its relation to Carbon Revenue.

Duration

The three-day training programme will essentially consist of:

  • Class room sessions
  • A guided tour to the development models within TARAgram campus
  • An evening out to visit the Orchha temples and fort

Course fee

INR 10,000 per participant for Indian Participants

INR 18,000 (450 USD) for Overseas Participants

Indian participants to make payment through Demand Draft drawn in favour TARA Livelihood Academy payable at Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.
