Training on online journalism

Indira Gandhi National Open University in collaboration with Deutsche Welle (DW) Akademie, Germany invites applications for a training programme on online journalism during March 23 – April 17, 2009. The month-long programme will acquaint the participants with various interactive elements of multimedia. The deadline for applying is March 10, 2009.

Indira Gandhi National Open University’s (IGNOU) School of Journalism & New Media Studies in collaboration with Deutsche Welle (DW) Akademie, Germany is conducting a month-long intensive training programme on Online Journalism & Web 2.0 during March 23 – April 17, 2009.

The training programme aims to equip the learner with the skills in using Internet as a digital medium to communicate effectively with various advanced multimedia packages.

The programme will teach journalistic tools like structure of online articles, writing for Internet, non-linear story-telling and packaging; and will introduce the learner with various additional, interactive and cross media options for web sites.

The training will be conducted by trainers drawn from DW-Akademie on the state-of-the-art multimedia lab at IGNOU New Delhi Campus. The DW-Akademie is one of the premier institutions of media education and training in Europe. As part of the collaboration, some of the participants may be considered for the traineeship in Germany.

Target group

Young professionals, media practioners, teachers, graduates (preferably in journalism and mass communication) who wish to excel in online journalism.

Fee

For residential candidates, there will be arrangements of boarding and lodging in IGNOU campus and total fee will be Rs.25, 000/. For non-residential candidates the fee will be 18,000/- which includes cost of study material, working lunch and inter-sessional tea etc. during the programme.

The last date of receiving duly filled application forms is March 10, 2009.
