Bangladesh based Khulna University of Engineering and Technology is organising a two-day international conference on solid waste management from November 9, 2009 at its campus. Participants will discuss appropriate techniques and plans for effective management of waste. The deadline for sending abstracts is January 31, 2009.

In the least developed Asian Countries, due to financial constrains, absence of appropriate technology and lack of awareness and effective law enforcement, municipal solid waste (MSW) remains unmanageable and becomes one of striking environmental and social issues.
To address the issue, Department of Civil Engineering, Khulna University of Engineering & Technology is organising WasteSafe 2009, an international conference on solid waste management from November 9-10, 2009 in Khulna, Bangladesh.
