Workshop on engendering workplace

Delhi based Society for Participatory Research in Asia is organising a workshop on engendering workplace from November 27-28, 2008. The two-day orientation programme is aimed at promoting a gender-sensitive and secure work environment. The deadline for sending nominations is November 20, 2008.

Attitudes within the workplace often reflect the prevalent mindsets within the larger society. With the changed scenario, workplaces now need to be geared towards the continued and increased participation of women.

Delhi based Participatory Research in Action is organising a two-day orientation programme from November 27-28, 2008 to enable organisations create an enabling work environment for both men and women and developing sensitivity towards the issue of harassment at the workplace.

Objectives

  • To recognise and understand the issues of gender concern
  • Awareness about sexual harassment at workplace
  • Developing a secure and gender-sensitive work environment

Thematic areas

  • Concepts of gender and sex
  • Gender-sensitive workplace
  • Framework for a gender policy
  • The issue of sexual harassment at workplace

Methodology

Presentations, case a study, group discussions, exercises will form an essential component of the programme.  Substantial learning material will also be provided to the participants.

Who can participate?

The workshop is ideally meant for senor manager or HR personnel of organisations who are in a position to bring about positive changes in the organisation.

Fee

The programme fee is Rs. 6000/- per participant. Those registering in time can get a 10% discount as an early bird incentive. Organisations nominating three or more participants would get a discount of 20% on the fee.

Nominations (form attached below) should be sent along with the demand draft in favour of Society for Participatory Research in Asia. The last date is November 20, 2008.
