Panos South Asia is organising an 8-day South Asian Multimedia Local Content Production for ICT4D Training Workshop from September 22-29, 2008 in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The event is a part of a Panos’ regional project supported by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) under the Building Communication Opportunities Programme (BCO).
The project aims to:
• facilitate information and communication technology (ICT) driven empowerment of the marginalised people at the grassroots in development processes in South Asian countries,
• mainstream their local voices and perspectives, in order to facilitate networking, knowledge sharing, and learning on information and communications for development (ICT4D) at the national, regional and global levels.
The workshop aims to facilitate the content development, networking knowledge sharing capacity building of media and civil society organisations (CSOs) to enable them to create local contents for ICT4D in South Asia.
Multimedia and CSOs working in various social, development, environmental and other sectors and issues in South Asia wishing to participate in the training workshop are requested to apply by filling out the application form (attached below).
All the costs for participating in the workshop for selected applicants shall be covered by Panos South Asia.
Complete applications must be mailed to sameer@panossouthasia.org by August 13, 2008.
