World TV Awards on Science and Environment

Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) with support from UNEP OzonAction are sharing the announcement of the call for entries of the 2013 World TV Awards, Science/Environment Category with the theme "Creating Ozone Safe Generations”, which is closely related to the theme of the 25th Anniversary of the Montreal Protocol. Deadline for submission of entries is 15 April 2013.

Prizes for the winner include a trophy from AIBD, USD 5,000 and a trip to Manado, Indonesia to receive the award at the Asia Media Summit on 29 May 2013.


Genres welcome are TV Documentary, Short documentary/TV report, Docu drama, Edutainment/Infotainment TV programme, Public Service Announcement/TV Spot, with a maximum duration of 30 minutes.


The World Television Award Science/Environment category emphasizes the pivotal role that the consumers and the industry could play to protect the ozone layer and it  also recognizes the important role that media has played for more than 20 years in  outreaching stories about the issue. The Award invites TV producers to submit their programmes, which communicate the messages, and stories about ozone-related issue.


You may also submit materials already made, if any, that were produced within 24 months before submission. Productions even in local languages can be submitted provided that they are subtitled in English.
