UNFPA to launch videos on life- skills education

The United Nations Population Fund and India’s Ministry of HRD launch the integration of life- skills education in National Open School curriculum, with the release of training videos for tutors to improve the quality of teaching and learning. This initiative marks a paradigm shift in education with the introduction of participatory methods in class- room teaching. These teaching- learning videos demonstrate the effective use of interactive approaches that enrich subject content and provide real- life connect for young students to enable them to negotiate real- life situations, challenge stereotypes and make healthy choices. India’s Ministry of HRD plans to expand the availability and use of these teaching tools to improve quality of learning in formal schools across India.
