Assistant Producer, Community Media (Audio – Visual)

OneWorld Foundation India (OneWorld) is looking for a highly motivated candidate for the post of Assistant Producer, Community Media.

The candidate would support the Community Media team of OneWorld to manage content and resource exchange platform EK duniya anEK awaaz, community based audio-visual productions including OneWorld’s flagship weekly radio programme Ek Duniya Ek Awaaz, coordinate, advocate and build capacities of stakeholders to set up Community Radio stations and organising events.

Location: The position will be based in New Delhi. However, the candidate should be willing to undertake occasional travel to project locations inside India.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Minimum eligibility criterion

  1. Degree in Media or Communications or related disciplines from a reputed College/ University.
  2. Prior working experience of 1-2 years with a media or community media organisation is desirable.
  3. Excellent understanding of community radio domain, community media in South Asian region and Community Radio policy.
  4. Excellent written and verbal skills in English and Hindi.

Required skills

Interested candidates must possess the following skills:

  1. Ability to independently produce radio programmes including scripting in Hindi and English on development issues like health, education, gender, children, environment, humanitarian, philanthropy and governance etc.
  2. Technical experience of using audio editing packages e.g. Nuendo/ Audacity/Sound Forge or any other suite, and flash recorders.
  3. Ability to write news articles, feature stories and edit copies for online portals.
  4. Ability to shoot and edit videos (including instructional/ training videos) in different editing suites e.g. Edius/ Final Cut Pro/Adobe Premier or any other suite.
  5. Ability to impart basic media (audio & video) literacy trainings
  6. Ability to manage social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr.
  7. Effective liaisoning and coordinating skills.
  8. Experience with basic data analytics and statistics
  9. Good use of Excel, MS Office, PowerPoint etc.

Duties include following responsibilities but are not limited to

  1. Develop programme outline, write scripts and produce OneWorld’s weekly radio programme Ek Duniya Ek Awaaz which is based on the issues related to development like health, education, gender, children, environment and governance etc.
  2. Coordinate and liaisoning with stakeholders for production of radio and video programmes.
  3. Manage and moderate content and knowledge exchange portal for Community Radio stations i.e. EK duniya anEK awaaz.
  4. Write news stories, feature article and edit copies sent by CR stations and other stakeholders for online portals.
  5. Develop storyboards, scripts and produce videos and animations.
  6. Undertake and coordinate research and evaluation activities.
  7. Writing reports, manuals, maintain database of potential CR partners, prepare presentations and documentation of workshops/ consultations.
  8. Be able to write and translate from English to Hindi and vice versa.
  9. Train grassroots NGOs and partners to use media tools
  10. Liaison with ministries, departments and NGOs.
  11. Coordinate and organise stakeholder workshops, consultation involving selected partners mainly Community Radio Stations and Community Based organizations.
  12. Assist in all aspects of programme management.
