To do their bid in improving the lives of the affected, JSPL Foundation, the CSR wing of Jindal Steel and Power Limited, has tied with Habitat for Humanity India (HFHI), an international NGO working towards the cause of housing and sanitation in India,to re-build 20 homes for the flood affected people in the Kashmir.

The initiative is titled- ‘Project Gulzar: Sustainable and Dignified Housing for Flood Affected Families of Kashmir’. It will be a one year project, commencing from 1st April, 2015 and would close by 30th March, 2016.

During this period JSPL Foundation will inject money into the project up to the value of Rs.88 lakhs for its implementation. The homes will be placed in Bandipora district and families will be segregated from government data.

Shallu Jindal, Co-Chairperson, JSPL Foundation, said, ‘Scores of JSPL employees will enrol for the volunteering work so that together we can help people in Kashmir regain their lost homes and hearth.”

HFHI and JSPL Foundation have joined hands to re-build 20 homes in an effort to provide permanent shelter to the affected families.”
