Jaipur Rugs Foundation wins SKOCH CSR award

The award was conferred for the Company's contribution towards the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

New Delhi: In a glittering ceremony held at ITC Constitution Club of India, New Delhi, Jaipur Rugs Company Private Limited was felicitated with “Top Corporate Social Responsibility Awards Projects in India” for their initiative ‘Artisan Originals’ at the SKOCH Corporate Excellence Award 2018 that took place on 19th September 2018.

The Artisan Original is a sustainable initiative of The Weaver Design Project by Jaipur Rugs which taps into the untamed fashion from the villages of India. It experiments with the originality of rural craftspeople and nurtures their creative potential which remains unexplored at a global stage.

The award was conferred for the Company's contribution towards the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. The winner's trophy for Top Corporate Social Responsibility Awards Projects in India was handed over to the Company's Research and Communication Manager -Himanshi Singh by Dr. Gurusharan Dhanjal- Managing Director & Editor – SKOCH Group.

The event was attended by distinguished gathering including various government officials, industry members and eminent personalities from the various fields.

Expressing his views on the award Founder and CMD of Jaipur Rugs, Nand Kishore Chaudhary said, “ Through Jaipur Rugs Foundation We seek to establish Jaipur Rugs as a consumer brand that would work towards the betterment of weavers, so that weavers are respected and given due credit for their work.”

The SKOCH Awards celebrates human excellence and agents of change in Indian society and recognizes corporates who have had transformational impact on the society by creating majority of the jobs and have been instrumental in improving the lives of the people. Jaipur rugs Foundation has always focused on and reached out to remote rural areas and establish bonds with the village communities, enabling them to start weaving not just rugs but also their own lives.
