The national conference will feed into a bigger dialogue on achieving Sustainable Development Goals in India.
New Delhi: Leading educational institute in India, Amity University, is hosting a second national conference aiming at 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The conference titled, Shaping India 2030: Sustainable Development and Socio-Economic Perspectives & Challenges is being organized by the Amity School of Economics in collaboration with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Quality Council of India, Confederation of Indian Industry and the CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development.
OneWorld South Asia is the media partner for the second edition of the annual two day conference that is being organized from March 23 to 24, 2017 at the Amity University Campus, Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The conference focuses on addressing the issue of Sustainable development and more specifically aims to achieve the following. The conference aims at generating wide spread awareness regarding the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The conference will offer a national platform for the professionals, researchers and academicians to share their intellectual expertise and research acumen. It will also strive to encourage and motivate young budding research scholars to understand the intricacies of Sustainable development and undertake the challenges of working on this paradigm.
The conference will also endeavour to identify specific inter-regional needs and build consensus that would help India to attain sustainable development and will suggest economic policy initiatives for ensuring sustainable development in India.
The idea of sustainable development seems to have become the most important notion of the day as the idea of development has evolved over time with the global development scenario is keeping pace with transformation and evolution.
The conference aims at providing a more comprehensive definition of development through a comprehensive dialogue for linking up ecological services and quality of life with economic growth.
Amity School of Economics in collaboration with CII-ITC, CESD and QCI is keen to harness the national discourse to rejuvenate and reincarnate our old ideologies and values into our growth process. This rejuvenation is only possible with new ideas and by working towards achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals collectively with a vision of 2030 in this year's conference.
The conference is also inviting applications for paper presentations. Original papers, those are not under review elsewhere, along with abstract are to be submitted. The last date for the full paper submission along with the abstracts is March 18, 2017.
Abstracts from the presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings with ISBN number. Selected papers will be published in an edited book on “Shaping India 2030: Sustainable Development and Socio-economic Perspectives and challenges” with ISBN number.
Additionally, good quality research papers will be eligible for the screening for getting published in the Scopus Indexed Journal.
