Mangaluru girl Shwetha Rao crowned Miss Climate 2019

Beauties from across India not only catwalked down the stage but also presented solutions to various problems related to climate change.

New Delhi: Beauties from across India strutted down the runway and suggest numerous ways of combating climate change at the second edition of Miss Climate- 2019 organised in New Delhi.

Shwetha Rao , 23 year-old-girl from Mangaluru, Karnataka, was crowned as Miss Climate -2019. Software engineer from Dehradun, Kinkshook Gairola was crowned as first runner up while a student from Delhi Ojasvy Chandhok was crowned as second runner up.

Miss Climate is a pageant for the the cause of the planet that intends to use beauty pageants as an effective tool to create awareness around the burning issue of climate change globally.

Tehri Hydro Development Corporation, a mini-Ratna PSU that operates and maintains Tehri Hydropower complex, presented Rs 1 lakh cash Prize to the winner, Rs. 50,000 to first runner-up and Rs 25,000 to the 2nd runner-up from its CSR fund.

Since the contest is dedicated to the planet and every contestant presented different and unique solutions for different factors related to Climate Change, therefore, every contestant was crowned as a winner in a separate category.

Prachi seth from Delhi was crowned Miss Climate Star – 2019, Pune girl Lavanya Pati was crowned as Miss Climate Queen – 2019, Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh girl, Muskan Verma was crowned as Miss Climate Care – 2019, Haryana girl, Bhavna Yadav was crowned Miss Climate Diet – 2019, Delhi girl Bhavana Attri was crowned as Miss Climate Ethics - 2019 , Gaziabad Girl Pooja Jain was crowned as Miss Climate Justice – 2019.

Among others, Hyderabad Girl Namratha Gollamandala was crowned as Miss Climate Values – 2019, Kolkata Girl Atmaja Das was crowned as Miss Climate Power - 2019 , Guru Gram Girl Ankita Pandey was crowned as Miss Climate Sensitive – 2019 , Kanpur girl Jyoti Singh was crowned as Miss Climate Sound - 2019 , Telangana girl Srija Chittimalla was crowned as Miss Climate Water - 2019 , Ahmedabad girl Sakshee Singh was crowned as Miss Climate Air – 2019 and Balata, Punjab girl, Samreet Kaur was crowned as Miss Climate Resilience -2019.

This pageant claims to be the first of its kind on the planet that continues the legacy of beauty with responsibility. Miss Climate 2019 will serve as Global Ambassador of Climate Change to inspire the government and business leaders towards building a greener world.

Eminent personalities from environment, Media, Fashion and Wellness, including Gayatra Raghwa, Environment Consultant, United Nations, Shala Nigar Senior Anchor, DD News, Dr Varun Katyal, Celebrity Wellness Expert and Arjun Kapoor, Celebrity Fashion Designer judged the contestants as jury members.

Virendra Rawat Founder of Green Mentors, the organiser of the Pageant said that, 16 most Climate Conscious beautiful women have been selected from more than 1000 entries received from different parts of the planet. The contestants are known for their significant contribution towards environment in their surroundings.
