The financial assistance to the UN agency has been given as part of India's annual contribution to it, said India’s External Affairs Ministry spokesperson.

India on Wednesday gave one million US dollars to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for providing food and medicines to Palestine refugees.

The Spokesperson of the External Affairs Ministry, Syed Akbaruddin said that the financial assistance to the UN agency has been given as part of India's annual contribution to it. UNRWA is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions from UN member-states.
