Kajol campaigns for hand washing at the UN General Assembly

Kajol appealed to policymakers and governments all over the world to scale up hand washing for achieving the development goals.

Bollywood star Kajol who is part of the 'Help a Child Reach Five' campaign attended the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. While delivering her speech the scintillating star appealed to policy makers to improve the hand-washing policies.

Kajol participated at a series of UN events in New York from September 23-25.

“Policymakers and governments have an opportunity to look at what needs to happen if we are to hit the child mortality reduction target by 2015,” Kajol said at a press conference in New York.

The Bollywood star also appealed to policymakers and governments all over the world to scale up hand washing with soap programmes for achieving development goals to reduce child mortality.

Kajol has joined a select group of other celebrities who are using their start power to spread the message for social causes. Earlier, Vidya Balan, Bollywood actor whose role in ‘Dirty Picture has won her wide acclaim became the brand ambassador of the Indian government's sanitation programme.
