Literature talks at the latest edition of Jaipur Lit Fest are all set to imbibe development hues with a series of book launches.
Jaipur: The Jaipur Literature Festival is known to attract the crème de la crème of the literary society. Over the years we have seen many issues being highlighted that are focused on various social causes prevalent in the Indian society. It has become the place to launch the biggest books of the year to the public and this year is no different.
This year’s line-up sees the launch of everything from cookbooks to books on paintings and out of the books being launched, three highlight mainstream development issues which is a huge breakthrough for people working in this sector to bring these issues to the mainstream.
Thunderstorm: Dalit Stories by Ratan Kumar Sambharia comprises of 15 stories that are at once grim, wryly ironic, humorous and affecting portraying with rare insight into the injustices rampant in a caste-driven society and the triggers that spark rebellion.
With disasters becoming more frequent in the form of flash floods in the Himalayas, Kedarnath and Kashmir, or the earthquake in Nepal, the authors are talking fancy to write on the issue which has got the whole world talking about it.
